Does CrackInterviewAI work on mobile?
There is no native Android or iPhone app. The interview assistant runs on Windows 10 and 11, and its Phone Mirror shows the live question and answer in a phone browser such as Chrome or Safari. Click MIRROR in the Windows app, scan the QR code with the phone camera, and the page updates while the answer is being written. The phone and the computer must be on the same network: the same Wi-Fi, or the computer connected to the phone’s hotspot. The phone only displays text; transcription, screenshots and answer generation stay in the Windows app.
What CrackInterviewAI supports
- Live question and answer in the phone browser
- QR code: no phone app or phone sign-in
- Same Wi-Fi, or the computer on the phone’s hotspot
- Reconnects after Wi-Fi drops and app restarts
Set up Phone Mirror in four steps
- Open the CrackInterviewAI Windows app, sign in and click the MIRROR button.
- Scan the QR code with your phone camera. The page opens in the phone browser; nothing is installed.
- Ask a typed test question and check that the question and the answer appear on the phone.
- Use the show/hide shortcut (Ctrl+Space by default, changeable in Settings) to switch between the desktop window and reading on the phone.
How Phone Mirror works
When you click MIRROR, the Windows app opens a small local web page with a private link and shows it as a QR code. Your phone opens that link and stays connected. As the app transcribes a question and writes the answer, the page updates within moments. Code blocks, lists and tables keep their formatting, and a blinking cursor shows while the answer is still being written.
The link is saved, so you normally scan once. Closing the app with the mirror on turns it back on the next time the app opens, and a phone page left open reconnects by itself. Scan again only if the computer joins another network or you create a new link. Up to four screens can view the mirror at the same time.
If the phone cannot open the page
Check that both devices use the same network and turn off mobile data on the phone unless the computer is on the phone’s hotspot. Office, hotel and guest Wi-Fi often stop devices from seeing each other; the phone’s hotspot avoids that. A VPN on the computer can also block local connections.
Windows Firewall can block the phone, especially when the Wi-Fi is marked as a public network. The mirror window has an “Allow through Windows Firewall” button that asks Windows for permission and allows only this app, only for devices on your local network. On an iPhone, Safari is the simplest browser; other iPhone browsers may ask for local network permission.
What Phone Mirror does not do
It is not a phone app and it does not listen or answer on the phone. The Windows app must be running and signed in, and your plan time is used by the app session as usual; Phone Mirror itself has no separate charge. It needs no internet path between the phone and the computer, only the shared local network.
A second screen does not change what an interview allows. Use live assistance only when the interview or assessment rules permit it, and check generated answers before relying on them.
Phone Mirror at a glance
| Topic | How it works | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Phone | Any Android phone or iPhone with a current browser | Open the QR link in Chrome or Safari |
| Network | Same Wi-Fi, or the computer joined to the phone’s hotspot | A phone on mobile data cannot reach a computer on a different Wi-Fi |
| What the phone shows | Current question, the answer as it is written (code blocks and tables included) and the app status | Ask a test question before relying on it |
| Weak Wi-Fi | Only the newly written part of the answer is sent, and a slow phone jumps to the newest text | Keep the phone near the router or use the hotspot |
| Reconnecting | The page reconnects after a Wi-Fi drop, phone sleep or an app restart, on the same link | Keep the page open; refresh only while the app is running |
| Privacy | A private link with a random key; the text travels over your own network, not a cloud relay | “New link” in the app makes old links stop working |
| Reading | Adjustable text size and a keep-screen-on button | Keep-screen-on support depends on the phone browser |
Frequently asked questions
Is there a CrackInterviewAI mobile app?
No. The interview assistant is a Windows 10/11 app. Its Phone Mirror shows the live question and answer in a phone browser after you scan a QR code, with nothing to install on the phone.
Does Phone Mirror work on mobile data?
Only when the computer is connected to that phone’s hotspot. A phone on mobile data cannot reach a computer that sits on a different Wi-Fi network.
Do I have to scan the QR code every time?
Usually not. The link is saved and an open phone page reconnects by itself, even after the app restarts. Scan again after the computer moves to another network or after you click “New link”.
Does it work on an iPhone?
Yes, in a current browser. Safari works without extra steps; other iPhone browsers may ask for permission to access devices on the local network.
Can I read the answers on more than one device?
Yes. Up to four screens can view the mirror at once, for example a phone and a tablet.
