Quick answer: more Indian IT companies now screen candidates with an AI or bot round before a person interviews them. Virtusa says so in its own job postings, Wipro candidates describe a bot round that starts with a self-introduction and moves to technical questions, and Cognizant candidates mention a bot interview before HR. Infosys and TCS candidates in AI roles report technical rounds on LLMs, RAG and generative AI. Formats vary by role and drive, and your invitation email is the final word.
Company processes are not published in detail, so this guide separates what a company states itself from what candidates report, with sources checked on 8 November 2026. For the LTIMindtree (LTM) bot round, see the LTM AI bot interview guide.
Wipro: the bot round candidates call BerryBot
Candidates on Glassdoor describe an AI-based first-level round, which several call BerryBot, before a human L2 interview: it opens with a short self-introduction, then asks technical questions on the role's stack, such as generative AI, Python and APIs, and some report a coding and SQL test inside it. One reviewer notes they had to keep looking at the camera (Wipro interview reviews on Glassdoor, checked on 8 November 2026). Treat these as individual reports, not Wipro's official format.

Virtusa: AI assessments stated in its own postings
Virtusa's careers postings state that it uses artificial intelligence to conduct pre-employment assessments, which may be text-based or voice-based (Virtusa careers posting, checked on 8 November 2026). A 2026 candidate report describes an AI screening round followed by a face-to-face interview (Virtusa interview reviews on Glassdoor).
Cognizant: a bot interview before HR
Cognizant candidates on Glassdoor mention a bot interview after the earlier rounds and before HR, which one called a formality (Cognizant interview reviews on Glassdoor, checked on 8 November 2026). Reports are few, so prepare as if it counts. The GenC process is covered in the Cognizant GenC guide.
Infosys and TCS: GenAI questions in AI roles
For Infosys, a candidate report describes a technical test on LLMs, RAG and generative AI, followed by an interview about GenAI projects and situational questions (Infosys interview reviews on Glassdoor, checked on 8 November 2026). TCS details are thin; searches mostly ask about GenAI interview questions for AI roles.
For either company, revise the generative AI interview questions: tokens and context windows, embeddings, RAG design, fine-tuning and AI agents. For the regular fresher process, see the Infosys and TCS NQT guides.
How to prepare for any AI or bot round
1. Self-introduction: 60-90 seconds, recorded and trimmed. The self-introduction generator gives you a first draft.
2. Project: one minute on the problem, your part, the stack and one result.
3. Core concepts aloud: OOP, DBMS and SQL, and your main language, one-line definition plus an example.
4. Role stack: if the role mentions GenAI or Python, prepare RAG, embeddings and API questions.
5. Set-up: laptop with Chrome, camera and microphone allowed, quiet room, light in front, backup internet, and eyes on the camera while you speak.
Practise before the round, never during it
CrackInterviewAI is a Windows app that turns a spoken or typed practice question into a short answer outline using your resume. New accounts get 30 free minutes. Use it to rehearse before the day. Do not use any live assistant during an AI-scored or proctored round: it breaks the rules and can cost you the offer. Download for Windows.
Rehearse your bot round answers
Practise your introduction, project and technical answers out loud with your resume as context. New accounts get 30 free minutes on Windows.
Frequently asked questions
Does Wipro have an AI bot interview?
Candidates report an AI-based first-level round, which several call BerryBot, with a self-introduction, technical questions and sometimes coding and SQL. Wipro does not publish the format.
What is the Virtusa AI interview round?
Virtusa's own postings say it uses AI for pre-employment assessments, which can be text-based or voice-based. Candidates describe an AI screening round before a face-to-face interview.
Is there an AI interview round at Infosys?
For AI roles, candidates report a technical test on LLMs, RAG and generative AI, followed by an interview about GenAI projects. The regular fresher process is an online test, a technical interview and HR.
How do I prepare for a company AI interview round?
Record and trim a 60-90 second introduction and a one-minute project story, revise core concepts aloud, prepare the role's stack, and test your camera, microphone and internet before starting.
Can I use an AI tool during the bot interview?
No. Live help during an AI-scored or proctored round breaks its rules. Use tools only to practise beforehand.
