Hexaware Interview Questions for Freshers: GET Rounds and Answers (2026)

Hexaware hires freshers through GET and PGET tracks. Here is how the rounds usually work and what to say in each.

Quick answer: Hexaware's engineering fresher hiring is commonly described under two tracks, Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET) and Premier Graduate Engineer Trainee (PGET), with PGET carrying a harder coding bar. A typical drive has an online test (aptitude, verbal and technical or coding sections), a communication assessment, a technical interview and an HR interview. Your drive notice is the final reference for sections and eligibility.

Apply through the official Hexaware careers site or your college placement cell (checked on 3 October 2026).

How the Hexaware rounds usually work

Online test: quantitative aptitude, logical reasoning, English, and either technical MCQs, coding problems or both. PGET candidates should expect at least one medium-level coding problem.

Communication assessment: an automated spoken and written English test (reading aloud, repeating sentences, short answers). Speak at a steady pace, finish sentences, and do not stop to correct small mistakes.

Technical interview: programming fundamentals, OOP, SQL, software engineering basics and your project. HR interview: relocation, shifts, joining date and motivation.

Technical questions with short model answers

Q: What is the SDLC? A: The software development life cycle is the sequence of planning, requirement analysis, design, development, testing, deployment and maintenance. Waterfall runs these once in order; Agile repeats them in short iterations with working software at the end of each sprint.

Q: What is the difference between verification and validation? A: Verification asks "are we building the product right?" through reviews and inspections against the specification. Validation asks "are we building the right product?" by testing the working software against user needs.

Q: What are the types of testing you know? A: Unit testing checks individual functions, integration testing checks modules working together, system testing checks the full application, and user acceptance testing confirms it meets business needs. Regression testing re-runs tests after a change.

Q: What is the difference between DELETE, TRUNCATE and DROP? A: DELETE removes selected rows, can use a WHERE clause and can be rolled back inside a transaction. TRUNCATE removes all rows quickly and resets storage. DROP removes the whole table, including its structure.

Q: What is method overloading versus overriding? A: Overloading means the same method name with different parameters in one class, resolved at compile time. Overriding means a subclass provides its own version of a parent method with the same signature, resolved at run time.

Q: Check whether a string is a palindrome. A: Use two pointers, one at each end. Compare characters and move inward; if any pair differs, it is not a palindrome. Mention case and space handling if the interviewer asks about sentences. Time O(n), space O(1).

HR questions with model answers

Q: Why should we hire you? A: "I have the fundamentals for this role, shown by my project in Java and SQL, I learn quickly, and I communicate clearly with a team. I'm ready to relocate and to learn whatever stack the project needs." Back each claim with one fact.

Q: Are you okay with a service agreement or night shifts? A: If your offer mentions an agreement, read it before the interview so you can answer with understanding. Answer shift questions honestly; a clear yes or a clear early constraint both beat a vague reply.

Q: Tell me about a challenge you faced in a team project. A: Use STAR: the situation, your task, the specific action you took, and a result such as the deadline you met. Keep it under 90 seconds.

Preparation tips

Practise the communication round as seriously as the coding round: read an English article aloud for ten minutes a day and record two-minute answers to common HR questions. For the technical round, revise SDLC, testing types, OOP and SQL, because services companies ask them often.

CrackInterviewAI is a Windows 10/11 app that turns a spoken, typed or screenshot question into a short answer outline, using your resume, role and job-description context. New accounts get 15 free minutes; after that, India base prices start at Rs 99 for 30 minutes and Rs 299 for 3 hours, prepaid with no auto-renewal. Use it to rehearse these questions aloud before the interview, then say every answer in your own words. Do not use live help in a proctored assessment or any round whose rules prohibit it.
